. Describe the services and products covered by Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, Medicare Part D, and Medicaid.
Part A:-
When a person applies for Medicare, he or she is enrolled in Part A plan automatically which is mainly the hospital insurance plan. Part A mainly includes the nursing care, stay at the hospital but does not include the fees of doctors. Apart from this, some of the home health services are also covered by Part A along with the skilled nursing care from discharge from the hospital and hospice care.
Part B of Medicare covers mainly two types of services which are as below:-
Medically necessary services:- These are the different types of services which are required to diagnose or facilitating the treatment required on the basis of the medical condition and which fulfils the accepted medical practices standards.
Preventive services:- These are the healthcare services which are provided to relevant illness or to diagnose in the initial stage where the results from the treatment are expected to be the best.
In Part B, most of the preventive services are free of cost if the services are received from a health care provider accepting the assignment.
Part D:-
Part D mainly includes the prescription drugs. The services offered in Part D are optional and are offered to only those individuals who are registered in Original Medicare Part A and Part B and the majority of Medicare Advantage plan.
These services are mainly offered by the private insurance
organizations which have approval from Medicare.
Medicaid:- Medicaid can be seen as a social insurance program which is managed and governed by the federal and state government and these are specially formed to cover the fundamental healthcare requirements of Americans having lower incomes.
Some of the services which are covered in Medicaid are Inpatient hospital services, Nursing Facility Services, Physician services, EPSDT: Early and Periodic Screening, Federally qualified health service, Diagnostic and Treatment Services, Rural health clinic services, Outpatient hospital services, Home health services
