Medicare is health insurance for people 65 and older,people under 65 with certain disabilities,and people of any age with End-Stage-Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant)

There are mainly 4 parts in medicare

  • PART A and PART B are often called original medicare
  • PART C is often called Medicare Advantage plans or MA plans
  • PART D is often called Prescription Drug Coverage"

Criques for PART A (Hospital Insurance)

  • it does not cover the costs for a private room unless medically necessay,private-duty nursing,personal care items or other extraneous charges like telephone and television
  • it does not cover cost of blood
  • it does not cover 24-hour home care,meals or home maker services if they are unrelated to the treatment
  • it doesnot cover any personal care services such as help with bathing and dressing
