Answer) In inductive reasoning,we look for some information, combine it with our own thought process,a thought process which is based on our experience as well as how we percieve things and reach a conclusion, now the instructor/teacher suspects that students in their 8 A.M. class are sleepy and talks to couple of students on their way to class and they told instructor that they were indeed sleepy, now the question is what are some questions we need answers of before we can determine how strong this reasoning was, they are as follows

  • Are most of students sleepy-I would like to know from more students whether they are sleepy,as it is possible that these couple of students were the only ones feeling sleepy and others are not.
  • Is this the case everyday-What if a particular day owing to group projects students were up whole night and then felt sleepy or is this the case everyday.
  • What if students feel sleepy in all of the classes and not just 8 A.M.-Instructor has stressed on 8 A.M. class but what if instructor's method of teaching was such taht students fell asleep everytime.
  • What if students were only pretending to be sleepy so morning classes get cancelled-This is another question which should be answered as at times students may pretend to be not attentive or do not take interest as they want to register a point against early morning classes.
