Three distinct regions of colonial america are New England, Middle colonies and Lower Southern Colonies.
New England: New England, originally inhabited by indegenous peoples, was dominated by English pilgrims especially Puritans escaping religious persecution in England. They created a religious and politically innovative culture influencing the modern united states. They were focused on religious fredom. They were also focused on trading serving as the center for trading between southern colonies and europe.
Middle Colonies: Middle colony was settled by immigrants from Dutch, Sweden, Germany and other european countries. Hence Middle colony was ethnically the most diverse colony. Middle colony was a fertile land and agriculture was main source of income along with inductryand trading. They were also focused on religious freedom and are religious. Middle colony comprises of the present day New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania etc.
Lower Southern Colonies: South colonies comprises of Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia etc. This colony is also fertile and agriculture was heavily practised. Majority of slaves were shipped to this region to work on farm lands. They were not highly religious and religion was not a major concern. Farming was heavily practised to make money.
