The scope of public health ambulatory services in the United States:
Ambulatory care is the outpatient care concerns in the hospitals. It includes the diagnostic and therapeutic services and treatments in the ambulatory region of the hospitals in which the patient is not admitted in the hospitals.
The patients are directly concerned with the outpatient physician they take prescription from there and go for the diagnostic test and take the medicine from the outpatient department.
The ambulatory care is related to the outpatient physicians and the patient as well as the family members. There is involvement of the patient counseling also by the pharmacist regarding the safe usage of the medication.
The ambulatory care is the huge demand in the united state and it is well managed by the outpatient department team, one can take the online appointment from the outpatient physician. Then the complete patient history is assessed on the basis of the past and present situations the physician suggest some diagnostic tests to the patient and on the basis of the tests and the assessment the final prescription is provided to the patient for the medical therapy without admitting the patients in the common illness.
Then the patient is also advised regarding the use of the medication, regarding the future ADRs and how to manage them, what to take along with the medicine and what should be avoided.
Then the patients or their family members are advised to reschedule the meeting after the specific time and further the assessment is performed. Then the final conclusions are made regarding the patient status in the particular therapy.
Thus in the ambulatory care the patient is not admitted in the in-patient department or not directly linked with the nursing care in the in-patient department. He only utilizes the outpatient services and care and after taking the complete medicine and the counseling go to home and starts the medication at the home and visit the physician again as suggested.
