Expert Solution

The relationship between Kp and Kc is given as

          Kp = Kc ln (RT)n

Kc = equilibrium constant , Kp = equilibrium gas constant , R = ideal gas constant , T= temprature in Kelvin, n = change in number of moles= number of moles of product - number of moles of reactants

        Kc = concentration of product / concntration product of reactants

          Kc = (NO)2 / (O2)(N2)

            Kc =( 482)2 / (32)(14)

         Kc =23044 / 448

         Kc = 20.56

Putting in above equation 1

           Kp = 20.56 ln (8.3773)            R = 8.3 J / mol. K             T= 500 C =773K

          Kp= 180.23

Amount of nitric oxide produced = ?

         Amount of nitric oxide form will be determined by using ideal gas equation

                     PV /n RT =1

     For the constant prassure , VOlume and number of moles.

                PV / n1RT1 = PV / n2 RT2

                    n1 T1 = n2T2

                     n2 = 2(500) / 400

                        =2.5mol

     The amount of nitric oxide will be form is 2.5mol.
