Most amphibians and land-dwelling arthropods have what in common?
A) When in water, they are mainly thermoconformers.
B) When on land, most have a net loss of heat across a moist body surface.
C) They are ectothermic organisms.
D) Arthropods have nothing in common with amphibians when it comes to regulating body temperatures.
E) They use metabolic adaptations to maintain body temperature.
Option C
Arthropods and amphibians are not very closely related to each other except for one point, that is both of them are ectotherms or cold blooded animals.
This is the group of animals which are not able to maintain their body temperature as per the fluctuations in the environment. Therefore they show biochemical, behavioral and physiological means to escape from the the fluctuations in the temperature.
For example, lizards hide themselves under the ground whenever the temperature of environment is very high. And Cockroaches also undergo metabolic in activity during winters and show hibernation.
