Using the reflex pathways explain why inhibition of inhibitory interneurons might result in uncontrollable muscle spasms?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Reflex actions is one of the important charecteristic of living tings. It is a sudden and involentary response of the body. The path of the reflex is known as reflex arc .the part of a reflex arc are

1.the receptor

2.sensory neuron

3.interneuron

4.motor neuron

5.responding body part

The receptor recieving the impulse which carry the sesory neuron to brain or spinalcord throuh the interneurone the impulses change to motor impulses which carry the motor neuron to the respctive body part nd responding the particular situation save the boady from critical situations. Here discusing the role of inhibitory interneurones during reflex action .The reflex actoions are uncontrollable and unconcious.Inhibitory interneurones help the musculr coordination ,normlly muscles working antagonistacally means that opposite directions .The inhibitory interneurones itinhibit the antagonic muscles and prevent the contraction. This may avoiding unnecessory movement of the muscle.Muscle spam due to the involantary action of normally skeleton muscles.these involantory actions may avoiding by the proper functioning of inhibitory interneuron
