DEFINITION OF HIS (HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEM):
The HIS is defined as a health informatics which is an advancing technology focuses mainly on the administration and managerial need of hospitals.it may be a comprehensive , integrated information system which is designed to manage all aspects of hospitals such as medical, administrative, diagnostic, pharmacy, financial and legal issues.
HIS automatesclinical, electronic medical records, administrative and other inventory functions. it is a key component of of hospital system.
COMPONENTS
HIS provide a common source of information about the clients health history. the system keeps the data privately with security all cant reach data. it can be reached in certain circumstance. it helps in co-ordinating patient care ,no of procedures done, total no of visits etc which helps in promoting patient health care. laboratory information, radiology information all can be shared in HIS which helps co-ordinating among health care provider. it helps in developing communication process both internal and external among health care providers. to maintain this HIS bedside digitalisation is required that is smart phone or a tablet.
The HIS involves multiple software like laboratory information system, radiology information system, cardiology information system etc.
