Cancer is the disease that is caused due to the uncontrolled proliferation of abnormal cells. This leads to the formation of a whole tumor that affects the activity of normal cells. The cancer can be widely spread over many parts of the body and it is named according to the point of origin. The current treatment methodologies involve surgical removal of the tumor, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. The surgical therapy involves the elimination of the tumor present in the body but it will not ensure complete eradication of the cells, radiation is subjecting the tumor to gamma rays radiation , this is also not specific only to cancer cells , chemotherapy drug also is not usually specific to the tumor alone it also causes problems to the normal cells of the body . Therefore there always occurs a lacuna in the identification of a specific treatment to the cancer . Current research has introduced 2 major paradigm shifts in the ideology of cancer treatment , they are the oncogene or the biomarker driven targeting, the other is the immuno therapy . But these are not currently successful due to the heterogenecity of the disease and its genetic microenvironment exhibited by each patient. The formulation or the optimization of this would open up new avenues in cancer therapeutics
