Describe and explain the main surveillance data collected in the database of interest.

Describe the aspects of how clinical and administrative systems contribute data used in public health surveillance.

Analyze how existing surveillance systems and health information systems serve forces driving change, including healthcare reform and bioterrorism (anthrax, food/water contamination and air borne contaminations).

Submission Details:

Environment

Environment plays an important role in our health .So many risk factors are present in our environment that leads to serious health hazards or potential health problem

The major risk factors present in our environment are:

  • Air,water and soil pollution
  • Chemical exposure(eg:pesticides)
  • Climate change and disaster(earth quake,flood,industrial chemical accidents,terrorism)
  • Ultraviolet radiation
  • Radioactive materials exposure etc

One of the main health hazard from the environment is air pollution

Mortality

One of the main reason for death is due to the T.B.

It is a fatal condition if not treat and manage at earliest stage of the disease

According to CDC one fourth of the world's population is infected with Tuberculosis

Population

Sexually Transmitted diseases (STDs) is a most common infectious disease in the United States. The main reason is by the population or the persons.

Infected people can pass the infectious organisms to their sexual partners

This infectious disease can affect both gender in all ages and backgrounds.

Surveillance data collected in the database of Interest

Surveillance data can be collected through different ways. The surveillance data is used for estimating the incidence of different types diseases, its cause, management etc

Through this surveillance we introduce the measures to prevent health problems,or manage it properly and we can go for the health awareness programme to reduce the morbidity and mortality rate and to improve the health status of the public population

Contribution of data used in Public Health Surveillance by clinical and administrative systems

Public health survellance is a tool to estimate the health status of people in their country.

Public health surveillance is useful for measuring the health status of the population or prevalence of diseases

By using this survellance data they can go for the measures to prevent the diseases,to improve awareness of the people and to conduct public health programmes.

The surveillance data is used to measure the vital statistics

Analysing the existing surveillance system and health information system

Actually the present surveillance system and health information sysstem is satisfactory for asseing the bioterrorism.

In case of bioterrosism in the history we have heard about the anthrax letters. Now a days it is not that much prominent.Any way it is a formof bio-terrorism attack. We have to go for the risk assessment for this and to be prepare for the risk management and communication.

For other health care issues we have to follow a globally accepted survellance and communication system toimprove the health status of our population
