Expert Solution

Burnet's theory of the Earth , says that the earth is hollow and most of the water that is there at present was inside earth in the past.

Option D is the right answer.

A) Sir Issac Newton was so impressed by his work that once he wrote to him and suggested him that ,time was not constant since the formation of earth and days and nights, mentioning days were longer at the time of formation of the Earth. But , Burnet didn't agree with that saying it would have needed God's intervention.

So option A is not the answer.

B) This is also incorrect answer as Burnet's theory of The Earth it self says that earth is a hollow sphere which was earlier holding a lot of water , errupter during Noah's flood forming the mountains and oceans . He has supported this by making a calculation that water present on earth's surface was not enough to make oceans and mountains . So water was been hold with in earth .

C) This also does not hold true because Burnet also believed in Descartes theory of origin of the Earth which states the big bang theory of the origin of the Earth.

D) this is the right answer because of the many loopholes in Burnet's theory it's been found that doesn't hold true in many scenarios and also with the scientific explanation of the origin of the Earth and oceans and mountains on Earth .
