Arthritis is defined as the inflammation of the joints.

Arthritis treatment is focussing on the relieving the symptoms and improving the joint function.The treatment given for arthritis are based on the type of arthritis , are as follows:

  • Pain killers: This medications help in reducing the pain but does not relieve from inflammation.
  • NSAIDs: this medication helps in reducing both pain and inflammation
  • Disease modifying anti rheumatic drugs: Often used to treat Rheumatiod arthritis. Helps immune system in slowing down or stopping from attacking the joints.
  • Biological Response modifiers: These are the drugs that target many protein molecules that are involved in the immune response.
  • Corticosteriods: These are the drugs which reduce the inflammation and suppresses the immune system.

Therapy: Excercises also helps to improve in some kind of arthritis . This helps in strengthening the muscles surrounding the joints.
