Something new I learned about clinical trials includes the fact that the clinical trials are not only for treatment i.e. the testing of new treatments, new combinations of drugs, or new approaches to surgery or radiation therapy but also for prevention. Such prevention trials look for better ways to prevent disease in people who have never had the disease or to prevent a disease from returning. Such an approach may include medicines, vitamins, vaccines, minerals, or lifestyle changes.
