the reflective journal described here is based on rolfe's relective model of 2001 which comprises of what?, so what? and now what? .
1. what:
i joined practical nursing(pn) program this year and currently studying in the first semester. it is a great experience to learn anatomy and physiology that is the study of human body and its functions. foundation of nursing comprises of basic nursing procedures in delivery of nursing care services. pharmacology deals with the study of medications used for various medical conditions. the topics were learnt well by class presentation within group emembers inorder to clear doubts and thereby provides clarity in understanding the concepts.
2. so what:
the learning on human anatomy and foundations of nursing helped me to gain knowledge on theoretical aspects of human body and how to care for individuals with certain medical conditions of different organ system.the drug calculations were taught by the pharmacologist and later learnt well through group discussions performed within the class group that helped me to study applied pharmacology. this was one of the toughest part of learning which later felt easy.
3. now what:
now, i need to practice on the lab skills till i start the practicum in clinical area. it is crucial to improve the practical skills once the clinical posting starts so as to deliver best nursing care. the knowledge on theoretical aspects of these subjects could definitely make a difference in learning practical skills.
