Nursing image and the nursing profession

The nursing image is what society sees about a nurse or nurses as a whole. Nursing image is very important in the nursing profession. Nursing image is important because it influences people, both within the profession and outside it. Every nurse is the image of nursing.

knowing within The self-knowledge about one's image makes the person aware of themselves, what they are, who they are, and what their purpose is. This helps to discover the profession of nursing itself. The nurse is a professional. Without a self-image, nobody can make progress. Nurse makes oneself aware of the nursing image that one should put on as a professional. This is a combination of skills. This is where the nursing image comes in handy. The nursing image teaches more than what is depicted in a theory book. It teaches what a nurse should do as a nurse. The image tells a nurse what to wear, how to wear, what to say, what to do, how to do, and most importantly to be a nurse..Nurses can influence themselves, the whole healthcare team, clients, their caregivers, and so on.   A nursing image helps to maintain the professionalism of nursing. A nurse should know within to know others. The client needs more than medical attention, He/ she needs himself/ herself. The nursing image provides support to the whole health care team. The nurse who shows an exceptional image of nursing unconsciously permits others to do the same. A nurse is doesn't work alone, she is a part of a team. The team only succeeds when everybody does their job. The team helps everybody win the race. That's how the nursing profession is. When somebody falls apart, they stick together to protect the image of the nursing profession.

The client or society    The impact zone of a nursing image is the society/ the client. The only thing that society wants is trust. Society feels insecure to have a nurse who has a poor self-image. This is because they care for their loved ones and want the best for them. Society makes assumptions based on appearances. The appearance in every aspect of life. The nursing profession deals with life. The nurse can be anyone, a teacher, an advocate, a communicator, and so on. Society has a habit of generalization. This comes in nursing aspects too. A bad experience from a nurse makes the client portray a negative image of nurses as a whole. A nurse cares for the client because that's their job, but what they want is more than that.

The nursing image is important in the nursing profession because nurses can influence themselves, the whole healthcare team, clients, their caregivers, and so on. The nursing image helps to set standards for caregiving.
