Higher cognitive functions such as planning, impulse control and judgement are controlled by the
parietal lobe
substantia nigra
inferior colliculi
pre-frontal cortex
Answer-. 4.prefrontal cortex
Explanation-prefrontal cortex is the cerebral cortex covering the front part of the frontal lobe. It has to measure anatomical and functional subdivisions. The orbitomedial and dorsolateral prefrontal regions. The orbital medial cortex involved in sensory processing (taste and olfaction), regulation of internal environment, control of drives, and emotional behaviour
The dorsolateral cortex is involved in cognitive functions.the prefrontal cortex as a whole place called role in the temporal organisation of behavioral and cognitive activities. It controls the execution order and timing of sequential task to what a goal.the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex in particular is essential for the planning and execution of complex new temporal structures of behaviour, speech and logical reasoning.the two cognitive functions of temporal integration needed the organisation of these activities: short term memory and preparasory set.the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex supports both the functions in cooperation with other cortical and subcortical structures.
When considering considering other options,
1. Parietal lobe-functions of parietal lobe are interpretation of taste, pain, touch ,temperature and pressure. And special perception.
2. Substantia nigra-substantia nigra is a relatively small yet very important structure in human brain. It is motor nucleus present in the midbrain. Substantia nigra plays an important role in the regulation of moment.
3.inferior coliculi- inferior colliculus is a part of midbrain that serves as a main auditory centre for the body.it acts as a channel for almost all auditory signals in the human body.its primary roles are signal integration, frequency recognition, and pitch discrimination
