OSHA - occupational safety and health administration is an agency that ensure safety and healthy working conditions of employees by setting up some horizontal and vertical Standards.

Vertical Standards set up by OSHA. apply only to specific industry or particular industries like construction, Maritime, agriculture, sawmills and telecommunication industry. These are set up by OSHA so as to ensure the safety of employees in these industries as most of these industries involve the use of Aerial lifts in everyday operations which may be hazardous for employees, OSHA ensure that proper training are given to employees to make them aware of associated hazards and provide information they need to work safely, OSHA also ensure that employers seek that all operators are properly trained. Thus OSHA  promulgate vertical Standards in first place.
