The antitrust case against Microsoft Corporation by the United State government was the most talkative event in the year 2000 when court reported a finding against Microsoft that they had used their monopoly power illegally and broke the antitrust laws in order to demolish the evolution of other software companies. Based on these antitrust issues against Microsoft Company the court had stated their judgment to rethink about the break up the Microsoft in two separate parts where one part will produce the operating systems and the other part will create the software components. This would be useful to determine whether this can increase the welfare of the consumers and also helps to maintain the healthy competition with the other software companies. This judgment also deformed the monopoly power of the Microsoft Corporation. The efficiencies of the functions of two parts of the Microsoft corporation will slowly understandable by the consumers as they can get the power to select the best one by comparing the others as well as these systems will be cost effective to the customers with the “genuine technological integration”.
