Data from the random alcohol testing among aviation employees with safety-sensitive functions should be reported to the Federal Aviation Administration (in US). According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the proportion of alcohol violations must not exceed 10%. In a random alcohol testing of 180 employees, a total of 15 violations were reported. Conduct a hypothesis test to determine whether there is evidence that the proportion of alcohol violations among aviation employees with safety-sensitive functions is less than 10%.
a) State the null and alternative hypotheses clearly.
b) Use Excel functions. You can find the critical z value from the
standard normal distribution table. Conduct a hypothesis test to
test the hypothesis at 0.05 significance level. Interpret results.
Make Decision and State Conclusion.
