Why were humans able to eradicate smallpox?

SMALLPOX--- It is a virulent ,infectious disease caused by variola virus. It is spread by person to person secretions from mouth or nose. It manifestated as fluid filled blisters on the skin with rashes.
For eradication of smallpox following factors are important to know about ----
Host factors, characteristics and structure of virus, social- political reasons, and public health reasons.
strategy used to eradicate smallpox are -----
1. Development of particular system to detect, diagnose, and which can contain outbreak and cases.
2. Availability of good vaccine.
3. Proper diagnostic tool.
4. It requires long contact with infected individual for transmission.
5. Use of bifurcated needles make easier to give vaccination.
6. Incubation period of smallpox is long so workers has a time to isolate them from infected individual.
7. The person who is infected stay in bed so it not spread rapidly.
8. Development of cheap vaccines that not requires cold storage. Use of vaccination posts and ring vaccination by limited resources.
