1 (a) The COVID-19 pandemic has
sparkled features in economic conditions which would lead to
economic crisis and reception. Social distancing, self-isolation,
and travel restrictions have reduced the workforce across all
economic sectors. The Ghana economy also experienced an adverse
effect of COVID-19 which has led to mitigating businesses and
households.

Social implications
- Suicide:
This pandemic has followed by a concern for a potential spike in
suicides.
- Risk
perception: This pandemic has
made catastrophic future seem less remote and action to prevent and
immediate threat.
- Personal
gathering: A government-imposed
restrictions on a personal gathering which gave rise to
teleconferencing.
- Domestic
violence: Due to the financial
insecurity stress and uncertainty domestic violence has
increased.
- Elderly
care: Old people are
particularly affected by pandemic because in Ghana they have very
limited resources to care for older people.
B) Economic
implications.
- Reduction in
income: The impact of
coronavirus has reduced income to the nation as well as individuals
which in turn shattered all the sectors of an economy.
- Rise in
unemployment: Coronavirus has
created unemployment problems in Ghana due to the strict government
measures initiated to stop the spread of coronavirus.
- Disruptions in the
transportation system: As
lockdown, the majority income was generated by transportation due
to migrants in Ghana which lead to the downfall of the
economy.
- Affect on the
financial market: Due to an
outbreak of pandemic the financial market collapsed because the
government could not take more risks and implement new policies in
Ghana.
- Global
threat: The outbreak of
pandemic as shattered globalization, urbanization, and
environmental change which in turn affect sustainable
growth.

Cultural
implications.
- Cultural
tourism: Pandemic has greatly
affected cultural tourism due to restrictions imposed by the
government for the movement of people from one place to
another.
- The closure of cultural institutions, archaeological sites,
and heritage sites lead to insecurity of cultural property and
site.
- Biological aspect
as a link to the cultural diversity
that broke the income along with the practices of the biological
outlook of marriage, child-rearing, parenting, etc.
- International
arrivals: Pandemic decreased
international arrivals and affected the global economy especially
the cultural attributes.
- Cultural effect on
society celebrations: This
pandemic as a stop the cultural effect on society as a majority of
the celebrations were not celebrated due to the pandemic. Which has
facets of culture and harder to gauge. This is interrupted by
living heritage practices and expressions.
(b). Measures
Measures adopted to curtail the
practice of rudimentary socio-cultural practices in the Ghanian
community.
- Provide good health and safety measures for
workers.
- Provide adequate monitoring, controlling, and
preventive measures for a pandemic by Ghana's economy.
- Ensure employees are not exposed to conditions
that would lead to illness and execute the role to uphold the
employer's standard.
- The environment and sanctions regime must be
enforced.
- Provide spiritual, material, intellectual and
emotional strength to the migrants in Ghana because the majority of
the people are migrants therefore when these measures are mitigated
automatically socio-economic and cultural indicators would
contribute for sustainable development.
