The COVID-19 pandemic has emerged as the health crisis which has impacted human life worldwide. The policy of stay at home has impacted the researchers the most that needed to be in their labs conducting their research work. Research staff is reduced to a minimum only those who are required to perform critical work are allowed to be in labs. There is a halt to human subject studies. Only essential in lab research work is allowed. The researchers are now keeping themselves busy updating the literature review of their studies. The empirical studies have been jolted. Many researchers whose work involves fieldwork and collection of quantitative data are currently exploring their qualitative data or are using the secondary data to support their primary data. Long term science projects having years of research have come to standstill. Many researchers are consolidating their research in the same area by collaborating with each other through means of webinars or online interactions. Presently, the whole research is focused on tackling the emergency call of tackling COVID-19. WHO is emphasizing to develop vaccine for this pandemic. Researchers are running a race against time. The research community has come together by understanding the epidemiology of the disease, clinical characterization, and prevention of disease and for this the world leaders have pledged 7.4 billion euros for fight against COVID-19. However, for many other researchers funding in the current economic situation is posing the biggest challenge for their ongoing work.
