Iron tablets can cause some amount of gastric disturbances, to avoid this nurse can advise the client to take it with a meal or just before a meal but taking the iron tablet with antacids can reduce the absorption of iron in the intestine, which will again increase the iron requirement.

insulin and OHA are not that much effective so, they are given before or with foods(Except basal insulin). So, in this case, The nurse should avoid administering medication or insulin but she should document this for future reference.
