Exposure to media violence in the form of movies, video games, entertainment has adverse effects on individuals, especially children. Exposure to media violence leads to an individual exhibiting aggressive behaviour and decreased emotional responses like hostility. The gore presented in the form of 'entertainment' makes individuals inculcate the responses viewed on their favourite TV show. They watch it for entertainment, however, without realising, a person has decreased emotional responses like not being sensitive to others, or being receptive of others pain and plight, they begin to be fearful of the outside world.
Aggression is a learnt behaviour especially through the exposure to media violence. For instance, after committing a few criminal acts, while being interrogated, he confessed that he learnt all the ideas to commit a crime from television. Exposure to media violence indeed has adverse effects.
