Nursing is a noble profession which requires dedication and patience. The nursing staffs can be categorised into various types such as Medical surgical nurses, critical care nurse, post anesthesia care nurse,neuroscience nurse, pain management nurse, Rheumatology nurse, oncology nurse, labor and delivery nurse.
Staff nurse is a registered nurse who can provide quality care to the patients in a hospital or residents of nursing home. It is the responsibility of a nurse to take of the patient from the admission to the discharge process. They provide direct patient care, administer medications, provide iv therapy and perform many other functions. They also supervise other medical staff to improve their efficiency.
There are vaious factors which affect the legal and ethical considerations for the health care provider in different categories. They are : patient confidentiality, relationship,malpractice and negligence, informed consent,euthanasia supported by physicians.There are many ethical principles which helps the nurses and sometimes nurses find it difficult to balance media and the workplace can create more work pressure innorder to provide quality and efficient care to the patients. The nurses shold follow certain principles such as respect for persons, do good to others, avoid harm to others,encourage fairness, equitability and truthfulness.
