Do the results from the Stanley Milgram experiment teach us anything about the social responsibility of corporations?
Stanley Milgram's experiment in 1963was one of the unacceptable experiments ever done in the field of psychology. Here the experiment was known as shock experiment, where the participants are war criminals and experiment focusing on the conflict between obedience to authority and personal conscience.
IF we will thoroughly analyze the experiment it put lots of stress on the participants and tried to analyze the obedience in extreme cases but the process was against human rights. He claims that a person can take extreme steps if he/she will be in excess of stress. in one word it can be defined as there is a thin line between rationality and irrationality so your level of stress will draw the line.
Now coming to Social responsibility of corporation will only work when we are in a better position while doing our business. so the responsibility will more and dedication also define the responsiveness. Now if any comany will facing any losses, then they may not consider the ethical or non-ethical aspects as they want to save their usiness first by any mean. so we can define this behaviour as a irrational behaviour.
