Explain how social inequality, on a micro and macro level, perpetuates the Inequality in a workplace
Social inequality is all about inequality on the basis of gender, wage gap, race etc. Social inequality is one of the most common problem which exists in our society. It can be seen in workplace too because we people form society and we work in companies.
The following ways the social inequality perpetuates inequality in a workplace :-
1) Racism :- In offices, employees discriminate other employees on the basis of their skin color. They judge people with their complexion, white people are considered to be on top and whereas black are considered as subordinates of white people. This is most common discrimination which is represent the inequality on the basis of race.
2) Wage gap :- Today also we can see the remuneration(wage) given to the women is less in comparison to the remuneration given to the men for same work. Many women's who are enough qualified and skillful, still can not promoted to high level because of inequality in workplace.
3) Sexual harassment :-
The other things our society talks about providing respect to women and we are actually failed in doing so. It is because criminals don't have fear of law, they know they will get bail. Society take these things causally. It is necessary to take steps against those who do disrespect of women.One side we talk about women empowerment and on other side we do discrimination with women's on the basis of gender. It's all about societal mentality which is not broad and sensible.
