For reasons you will understand if you take physical chemistry, the molarity actually is 4.10 M in this reaction despite your calculations in question 3. How many μL of bromine solution would be needed to react with 0.275 g of acetanilide? Show your calculations.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Moles of acetanilide = mass/molar mass

                                 = 0.275 g/135.17 g/mol

                                 = 0.002 moles

1 mole of acetanilide consumes 1 mole of Br2

moles of Br2 needed = 0.002 moles

ml of Br2 solution needed = 0.002 moles/4.10 M

                                          = 0.5 ml

In uL = 500 uL of Br2 solution would be needed
