Human immunodeficiency virus is a subgroup of retro viruses that overtime leads to many groups of syndrome called AIDS.
People with this infections tend to live normal life with proper medication .This medicine has a direct or indirect role with the type of diet they consume..
*It is also called as "slim disease" so
the patients should take good protein rich foods like meat ,fish, cereals, grains, sprouts,eggs ,beans,all body builders
*The patients are deprived of energy so a rich carbohydrate foods like brown rice,pasta, whole meal,bread should be given
* They should be provided with adequate vitamins and minerals to improve fibre content but increasing fruit and all vegetables
* All milk products to be given
*Small amounts of sugar and fats to be considered
If the diet is not followed properly the metabolism weakens day by day making patients fragile, weak,prone to infections, looking very skinny
Hence if they don't stick to the diet requirements they get infections grows very quickly due to low immune system aggregating illness further more.
Some strategies to follow this is to health educate the patients regarding diet and the disease
To have a regular follow up with the physicians and nutritionist to maintain their ideal weight and lead a quality of life
