1. Children are particularly vulnerable to health challenges as they have a weak immune system as compared to the adults. Gender discrimination, pregnancy and child birth create very high risks for women. Therefore we should pay particular attention to women and children’s health issues.

2. If we were to develop a public health program in a low-income country, the top three public health measures we should fund and implement to improve the health of women and children include;

Empowering women

Educating the girls as it will lead to them being in a position to secure good jobs, be economically better off and aware of the preventions they can have to reduce the prevalence of both infectious and metabolic diseases    

Reducing gender discrimination

Further all these efforts will have a direct impact on a women’s health, reproductive choice she makes, development and health of the children she gives birth and takes care of as an educated mother who is aware and economically independent can take care of her children lot better than an illiterate mother.
