One of the main potential standoff with stakeholders is the issue of 'Customer Privacy.
The second standoff is the trade-off between quality and cost. India is a cost conscious market and branding can take a hit as the salaries go higher and disposable income increases.
In light of the two main findings, I would suggest that Maruti Suzuki should explain to the stake holders that they are foraying into untapped market instead of simply working on the rebranding.
There is a wealth of potential for entry level vehicles that would need little to nothing of a branding makeover- in the tier 3 cities of India, eg. Raichur.
Tap the carless families by using social demographics and ensure that each first time owner can purchase a car at affordable price with leasing and financing options.
Flood the cab aggregator market with entry level cars, as summers are a bane and traffic in suburban India is not pleasant eitherways.
In this way, your stake holder will soon be seeing a new market where the cost conscious Indian will easily welcome.
E. Based on your study, make appropriate recommendations for additional research that would improve the organization’s effectiveness.
I agree with your methodology and approach to a large extent... You have unpinned the determinants from the inevitables. You have labelled factors as variables and have seen through the changing dynamics quite well.
One suggestion- Leave the deisel vehicles for tier 2 cities. Concentrate on creating affordable vehicles that run on clean energy. Electric cars will soon become a hit in India's top 30 cities very easily. The only hurdle you have to face is sales competition. Preplan the launch in advance and stay ahead of the technological breastplate and allow your failures of the last 5 years teach you that there is an opportunity in every corner when it comes to Indian Markets. I think petrol cars need to be redisignable into deisel OR you should create exchange offers for older vehicles. Please do not try deisel in bigger cities though.. It wont last long before regulators impose sanctions.
