Explain at least three different meanings of the word work. Do any of these meanings include some value component?
Work can be used either as a noun or a verb. Work can be used to refer to a particular accomplishment or it can be used to refer to ‘working’ on one’s vocabulary. The word ‘work’ can mean a job, profession, career, trade, labor, occupation, vocation, or a calling. Some meanings such as a profession, career, or a calling would include a value component. Really all meanings can include a value component to a certain degree. We all associate values differently in regards to work. Some individuals see work as everything and others see work as merely a paycheck at the end of the week. The value component depends on how or if the individual who works sees it.
