Roy and Kavi are working on an assignment. Roy takes 6 hours to type 32 pages on a computer, while Kavi takes 5 hours to type 40 pages.

Roy and Kavi are working on an assignment. Roy takes 6 hours to type 32 pages on a computer, while Kavi takes 5 hours to type 40 pages. How much time will they take, working together on two different computers to type an assignment of 110 pages?

Roy takes 6hrs to complete 32 pages, so in one hour, he will type:

(32/6) = (16/3) pages

Kavi takes 5 hrs to complete 40 pages, so in one hour, he will type:

(40/5) = 8pages

in one hour, the two will type: [(16/3)+8]pages

        =40/3 pages.............................(i)

we determine the time required to complete one page. This is given by the reciprocal of equation (i)

(3/40)hrs

To find the number of hours required to complete 110 pages, we find the product 110x(3/40) = 8.25hrs

The total time required to complete 110 pages is 8hrs 15mins
