Advertisements are artificial need creators that also makes a luxury into a need by attaching it to one’s self-esteem and social status. Although advertisements play a major role in boosting the sales of a product or services, they also promise things that are not real and use celebrities that don’t use those product themselves. Advertisements have been segmented by the companies for elders, adults, parents, children, infants etc. These classification of advertisement makes it easy for the companies to use the cartoon characters, famous celebrities as models to promote their products that target children. Children do not have the ability to make decisions and they go with instant gratification thus forcing the parents to buy those products. These advertisements that target the children do not tell the ill effects of using those products, instead attach some value to the product which would raise their status in the society. All these elements are serious ethical violations which should be monitored and controlled by the government.
