Expert Solution

Consumerism is a behaviour where people are very much addicted with consumption of various things. People with consumerism behaviour are like to purchase and consume something. People does not limit their consumption according their need. The consumerism is a kind of behaviour where consumption never stop and it increases all the time and the level of consumption changes with its quality, pattern and quantity. Now the question is whether it is good for the country. Under the system of investment, production, consumption and reinvestment this consumerism is essential and good for the country because consumption pushes up the demand of various good. This demand increases the output and level of employment of a country. So this theoretical aspect tells that for more and more investment and regeneration of profit there need to increase the demand of various goods among people. Mainly in the any evoeconomic structure where a capitalistic nature is there consumerism behaviour is essential and this behaviour is good for expanding the economy through its more output and employment.

But this consumerism behaviour at the creates very much inequality and selforiente behaviour among the people. Infact people are running through this consumption behaviour and sometimes they do not look into this effect. This behaviour has created a competition of consumption among people. This behaviour creates huge inequality and demolish the sharing and distributive nature of the people. So those people have more income purchase more and more and others never enjoy with that kind of consumption. This behaviour though help to expand the economy but socialistic and distributive behaviour of people suffers.
