What are the dangers of nuclear radiation? Is radiation less dangerous than we think? More dangerous? What radiation dangers do you think are worth worrying about, and what are not? What facts and examples support your conclusions?
The 2011 meltdown of 3 reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant is in the news again this week as the criminal trial against the plant executives comes to a close. How deadly was the Fukushima disaster? (And how does this compare to the deadliness of the earthquake and tsunami that caused it?) Have you heard of Masao Yoshida, and why people consider him the hero of Fukushima?
Nuclear Radiation is very much hazardous to the living beings .It causes skin burns and when exposed to high amount of radiation it may lead to death . The effect of radiation is not over in a short period ,it continues for decades. Radiation is much more dangerous than we can think of .We are quite aware of the Chernobyl nuclear explosion,in that explosion thousands of people died and the people who were managing the desaster died in few years because of the radiation.Fakushima nuclear desaster was the most sever desaster after the Chernobyl. It caused after the earthquake and Tsunami. Its desaster was given level 7 desaster.Masao Yoshida was in charge of Fukushima when it was hit by tsunami .He was the last person to be evacuated from the reactor. He refused to follow the order of his senior and minimized the devastation that's why he is called the hero of Fukushima. Later he died of cancer.
