Identify the type and location of receptors that are likely to
be affected by the virus to cause a loss in smell/taste. Explain
why people have trouble tasting foods when they are congested due
to a cold or allergies.

*people have trouble in tasting foods when they have cold or allergies because the tissues inside our nose may be swollen and inflamed . So when a person having cold can't smell the food then he can't taste it properly. Person having allergies may cause chronic rhinosinusitis this leads to loss of taste.
2. smell is closely linked to memory.even if you think some smell bring back you some sort of memories, one reason for this is that olfactory system is located in same part of the brain that effects memory, emotions and creativity.
