A scientist from a black women cancer cells aparted an Immortal Human Cell which later brought a dramatic change in the cancer treatment.
The ethical principles were misused after the cell line was released in online bringing medical revolution.
The informed consent should be explained to the patient and the close relatives in their own language without any confusions but this didn't happen, her cells were taken without her consent and used for research.Fir years the family was unaware that Hela cell existed. When it came to be known it was a breach of trust and medical practice, who were not informed or gave consent to research. The family should be supported financially who was not even able to afford the treatment.
The current research made the necessity of informed consent to patient and relatives in known language and understood by them.Use of biospecimen after the death of individual should be legally informed to their relative.By doing so the dilemmas would be managed effectively.
