Acid-Base reactions are also known as Neutralization reactions. Arrhenius concept of acid and base are.

Acid- Any entity that donates H+ ions in the solution and forms Conjugate base or anionic species.

Base- Any entity that donates OH- in the solution and forms conjugate acid or cationic species

Then Conjugate base (anionic species) and Conjugate acid (cationic species) combine to form salt.

Formation of KNO3, KCl and BaSO4 salts are explained as follows

  1. KNO3 salt: It’s a salt of strong acid (HNO3) and strong base (KOH). Strong acid ionizes to form H+ and NO3-. Strong base ionizes to form K+ and OH-. H+ and OH- combine to form water (H2O) molecule. And K+ and NO3- forms salt KNO3.
  2. KCl salt: It’s a salt of Strong base KOH and Strong acid HCl. We can see its formation in chemical reaction depicted in diagram.
  3. BaSO4 salt: It’s a salt of strong acid H2SO4 and base Ba (OH)2. It’s formation we can see in chemical reaction.
