1)What is the gram strain characteristic and morphology the organism which causes "strep throat"____________ 2)Which of the following may cause a Fungus ball infected in the lung which is likely to require surgery ________ 3)Which organism most closely imitates tuberculosis ( cough, sweat, weight loss and even stains acid fast ___________ 4)the most aggressive fungal invader of the male groin is __________,________
Ans-1. Strep throat is caused by bacteria called streptococcus pyogenes which is also called streptococcus group A.
Streptococcus pyrogenes are gram positive when stained. In morphology they are spherical or oval cocci in chains. These are non motile, non sporing about 5 to 1 micrometre in diameter. Some of the strains are capsulated, mostly seen in young cultures. The species are fimbriated and has protein called protein F.
Ans-2). Aspergilloma is a clump of mold which exists in lungs and is caused by fungi aspergillus. A rapid infection may lead to symptoms like cough, fever, chest pain difficulty in breathing. It requires surgery for pulmonary aspergilloma or aspergillosis and can be fatal too.
Ans-3. Tuberculosis is caused by bacteria mycobacterium tuberculosis. There are 25 different species of mycobacterium of which mycobacterium avium resembles close to tuberculosis with same symptoms of fever, cough, weight loss
Ans-4. Tubes cruris is a dermatophyte which is the most aggressive fungal infector of the moist groin. It affects female also but most commonly affect males. The groin becomes itchy and sore and red, slightly scaly skin develops.
