1) What is the pressure inside a 32.8 m3 container holding 103.4 kg of argon gas at 395 K(MAr=40x10-3kg/mol)?

2) A 10kg object floats with 5/7 of its volume under the surface of the water. What is the density of the object? The density of water is 1000 kg/m3.

Solutions

Expert Solution

ANS : (1) : V = 32.8 m3 , T = 395 K , R = 8.314

                 From PV = RT

                         P = RT / V

                         P = ( 8.314 x 395) / 32.8

                        P =   100.122 Pa

                      the density of the object is   d = m / v

                                                               d = (10 x 7 ) / 5

                                                                d = 70 / 5

                                                               d = 14 kg / m3
