Globally everything has been postponed in this lockdown. All projects are delayed, workplaces are closed and schools and colleges are shut down.
However, the education boards all over the world make online learning a compulsory way of teaching. Students have to attend online classes to minimise the syllabus as soon as schools and colleges reopen. Via video calls and other application many teachers from the home are teaching and covering their syllabus. Globally many countries have adopted this method. Schools in New York, the United States, prepared for online learning by distributing gadgets to their students, ensuring that they would have access to learning materials.
But there are numerous problem of online learning in this pandemic. This is because some students lack the devices (mobile phones) and internet access to be able to participate in online classes. Some schools do not have capacity to teach online. Country like India where Government schools are more, teacher of Government schools are not trained to teach online. Overall we can say that students who cannot attend the classes are going into losses.
There are many other problems like online classes can be boring because of less interaction between students and teachers. Also students can face technical difficulties in operating the video calls or other application through which online classes are run. The online classes are less effective than normal classes because there is less interaction between teacher and students in online classes and there is a high interaction between teacher and student in the classroom. Doubts online classes cannot be cleared and if cleared then it will take time. There are some subjects which can be learnt orally but there are some subject which are complicated like mathematics and science which need of interaction between a teacher and a student. If any student missed the class due to technical issue it will be a clear wastage of time. Also it would be difficult for teachers to make videos related to subject because they are not trained.
at last we can say online learning is the advantage of the technology that students are not simply wasting their time but it is also a reality that it is not a proper solution too.
