Black Americans served in the civil war on both the union and confederate side. Black man rushed to volunter for service with the union forces. President Abraham Lincoln feared that accepting blaack man in the civil war would cause border state. Slaves served as soldiers,labour force in the army. It was not slavery itself that sparked the conflict most slaves were infact liberated. The Army hiered many to work as cooks,drivers,blacksmiths,laundress. 10% of entire force were Black Americans. The confederate Army didnot treat captured African-American soldiers as the normal prisoner. The Black Americans had already been struggling for their freedom and human rights so they would continue to fight through out the wars as the slaves only. As the war progressed the confideracy impressed slaves to performed manual labour at Military locations. They dug letrines,hauled supplies and etc. The black man probably most wested intrest in the outcome of civil war. These slave played active role in their own imancipation. They fought un officially the US Army never had accepted Black soldiers. The Union Army badly needed the soldiers,but Lincoln authorised to employ as many Africans may deem necessary for the suppression of rebilion.
CONSEQUENCES :
The republicans had succeced in capturing the state the victory was made secured by passage of tariff,banking,labour registration.It claimed the industrial growth in the northeren states, inventions and US was transformed as world's most bustling exporter. Unrestricted democracy imposed. Cotton plantation was affected the north,which was the main marketing sources in stilled a blockade leadings to loss of market for the south. So,Civil War increased advancement of commercial agriculture,Civilian hospitals improved medical procedures in US. In addition to that liberation of slaves was served as economic boosters and shaped a new era.

Black southerner did everything with their power to speed the evolution of north.South had gathered in conventions to proclaim their vision. Black and White teachers from north and south, missioneres ,churches,schools worked tirelesly. In the North radicals didnot abolish slavery,slave them selves had pushed the issue towards south. Southeren states had never give up their rights to govern themselves. Many repressive codes enraged in north including numerous members of congress which refused to seat congress man and senators from Southeren state and it caused for passing of Civil Rights Bill. The participation of black in Southeren public life after 1867 would be most radical development of reconstruction. Rasismwas still a potent force in both North and South republicans become more conservative and less egalitarian as the decade continued.
