The current trend of airing sports or daily soaps on television will fall into disfavor with the consumer population. In today's fast pace enviornment, nobody likes to spend time on long commercials which are aired during the break.As these commercials eat most of the viewing time, the consumers are moving away from televisions and finding alternate source of entertainment on internet, OTT etc. Gradually the TRP (Televsion Rating Point) is declining year on year and thus airing sports or sitcoms is in serious danger.

The solution to this problem is to keep a balance between the commercials that are aired in the breaks to bring back viewers interest in watching television. Also steps should be taken to bring down the cost of subscription to channel to make them compete with OTT Platforms like Netflix etc. Moreover good content shall be developed for televsion to attact viewers attention and prevent the death of television.
