Think that you are covering a Sport Manager position, do you believe selection measures should be more objective or subjective in their nature? Why and why not?
If I am covering a sports manager position, then my selection measures would be Objective in the nature. This is because I don't prefer to manage my team on a subjective in their nature. When we become subjective we give preference based on our personal liking and dislikes. This will lead to inefficiency in the teams total performance. I shouldn't use my power to select whom I like rather i should give priority for the deserved ones among all the players.
I would select my team on an objective basis. When the process of selection is done on an objective basis the overall performance of the team would immensely increase. Here my personal favors are not more important than what's best for the team. Players would also feel the vibe of competitiveness in the camp and would train and equip themself to come on top to get into the selection process. In this method of selection all players would be treated as the same. No one will feel like they are not considered at all. In this method I would create many test for the players to prove their worth to come and play for the teams. Players who participate and take this test by giving due importance would be in a better place to be on the team. Transparency would be high in terms of this management method. All will be able to easilly know why a particular players are selected. In this method skill and knowledge and efficiency are taken into consideration. All can understand the requirements and obligation they must adhere inorder to have a place in the team. In this method an objectivit, goals and standard will be preset and all must work to achieve those.
