In the video The endangered species Act:40 years at the forefront of wildlife conservation it shows and explains how some species are declined.

The activities of the people causing harm to the wildlife. Hence the wildlife across the world are slowly disappearing. Already many species have become extinct.

In this video the decline of the bald eagle is seen. This is due to illegal hunting and also effects of DDT(pesticide)

The Endangered species Act(ESA) is a law to protect the species and prevent them from going extinct was putforth by lawmakers and some citizens. So this ESA act has afforded to protect bald eagles by banning the DDT. They also made efforts to protect them from being hunted.

Then the population of bald eagles have slowly increased. It is important to preserve this species because bald eagle is the national symbol of the United States.

The other factors such as habitat degradation,climate change, pollution,invasive species threatens endangered species.

Jus like the bald eagles the black footed ferret are about to extinct due to insufficient amount of their food source. The ESA helped to provide their food sources ie prairie dogs and protected this species too. Not only these but there are many species which faced this problem and are now protected by the ESA.
