unions often have strict rules regarding what type of work employees in specific categories perform. I wonder what would happen if the employee involvement program members decided they want to change how work tasks were divided among different types of employees?

Expert Solution

The worker who is a union's member has to follow what they have set as a standard and a rule. They have been around for a long time now and although they have improved the quality of work-life of many workers, they have limited the scope of work for the workers to perform and qualify in.

Employee Involvement Program is the way through which the productivity and the motivation of the employee toward their work can be increased. This program gives the opportunity to the employees to get involved in the decision-making process of the organization.

If the members of the employee involvement program decided to sway differently from the viewpoint of the union and made decisions regarding the type of work they want to do then the role of unions will start to diminish. The union was established when the workers were not considered important and not given favorable conditions at all. However, as now all the employees are educated and knowledgeable about their rights and work, the union has started to lose their position.

They now have different aspirations and know about how or what they to work in.

The changing times have brought new and broad thinking and with that modernization, different kinds of jobs are being made. The business environment aspects have also been changing and the 'old economy' utilization of unions is putting them at risk.

Basically, unions were the intermediaries between the employers and the employees but now the line between the employers and employees is decreasing. And the employee involvement program is one of the reasons for this. Now the employees can directly interact with the employers about their work and other things.

This program helps the members choose their suitable job and they do not require the help of unions for that.

I work in a lab where all the pipettes are shared. We often have visiting students who come and use the pipettes for a short project. So when I work with them, they might have been handled by other people several times since I last used them. This leads me to worry that they might have been mishandled, or become less accurate somehow. How do I clean and calibrate pipettes? And how often do I need to do it?
