Based on Alice Munro's "The Bear Came Over the Mountain":
How might this story enrich your experience as a nurse?
Alice Munro's ''The Bear Came Over the Mountain'' is a short story of two couples, their chance meeting, and the consequences of their involvement in each other's lives.
In this movie the character Fiona has started developing Alzhimer's disease because of which she needs 24/7 medical care and thus is taken to a medical facility along with her husband as the caretaker.
The story as a nurse enriches your experience letting you know how the work of nurse can be diverse and go beyond the normal patient-nurse protocol. Sometimes in the turn of events such as this where the wife starts falling in love with another man in the facility and the husband is heartbroken, a nurses duty would then include making the husband aware of the course of the disease and why is she doing what she is. Thus this movie shows us that the work of a nurse can go well beyond the usual protocol that helps greatly to grow both as an individual and as a professional
