2.)Why is it difficult for labor negotiators to switch from traditional to integrative bargaining? What recommendations would you make for negotiators trying to make this switch? Why is it more difficult for union negotiators to make this change compared to company negotiators.
Interactive bargaining goal is negotiation between workers union and management to achieve mutually acceptable or beneficial conditions. It is a win win bargain in which both the party agree for conditions which are mutually beneficial. Labors negotiators find it difficult to switch from traditional to interactive bargaining due to the fact that they believe that the problems will not be addressed completely and when there is no room for further negotiations they always levy on traditional bargain. There is often loss of trust in management that forces them to adopt this style of bargain to resolve their problems. There is always a fear that management resolves problem only with arguments and threat
Recommendations for the negotiators to switch from traditional bargain would be interactive bargaing helps to find best alternative to a negotiated agreement. There is a room for mutual respect and a win win situation where both parties have benefited from the bargain to resolve a problem. There will not be usage of foul language, threat from both sides to fight and win a cause. Interactive bargaining there is a discussion between the parties to find next best alternative.
